An event you don't want to miss! Harrison Mule Days is a celebration of the mule and the mule people. We have worked hard to plan a weekend event that offers something for everyone: the young and the young at heart, the mule riders and competitors, the mule lovers, and even for those spectators who may not know the difference between a mule, a donkey, and a horse.
This event is being held in honor of two very special men. In 2003, we lost a very dear friend and known mules man, Gene Harrison. He introduced our family to the mule and its versatility. His passion for the mule was clear and contagious. Our brother, Jered Harrison, soon absorbed this passion. He began coon hunting with Gene and traveling to mule shows and events. He loved his mule, Brownie, and especially loved to compete in the coon mule jumping competition. Sadly, in 2005 Jered lost his life in a farming accident at the young age of 26. He left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. After his accident, our family established a memorial fund to ensure that there would always be mule events in our area. Jered was a traditional guy, who loved his friends, his family and his town. What better way to celebrate his life than with an event that unites those very ideals ~ his friends, his family, the mule community, and his hometown.
We encourage you to share your comments and suggestions with us so that each year we only get better. It is our goal to remind you how much fun an old-fashioned weekend of friendship and fellowship can be. So kick up your heels, hang onto your hats, find yourself a monkey-in-a-tree and prepare to have a good ol' time.
Oh, and ya'll come back to see us each year, you hear!
Your friends,
The Harrison Family
